Book a cycle tour and escape Oxford city to enjoy a mostly traffic-free and leisurely route along Thames river path. Plus get an introduction to many of Oxford's famous sights. Leisurely paced tour.
The best way to see Oxford and its beautiful surroundings is on a bicycle. In fact, many locals use bikes to get around the city because Oxford is not the most car-friendly place. The bicycle tour route can vary according to any special requests but generally, the itinerary is as follows.
Depart from Oxford via bike, and follow a relaxing scenic route along the Thames River path to visit a picturesque village with thatched cottages, a medieval church, and scenic views. You will also see many of Oxford university's famous sights as we introduce stories about the university colleges & famous events or personalities.
It is also possible to schedule a pub stop for refreshments and, regardless of the route, you can gain insight into how a boat trip along this route in 1862 inspired Lewis Carroll's story-telling of 'Alice in Wonderland'.

• Please state when booking if you are not familiar with riding a bike e.g. you have not ridden a bike in a few years
• There is an extra charge for infants unless you bring your own bicycle with a child seat
• Please advise when booking if you require the parent bike with a child seat tandem bike (there is only 1 available)
• The bikes should fit those between 1.3 and 6.3 meters (4 foot 2 inches and 6 foot 3 inches)
• Please note that there is a limited number of bikes for those between 1.3 and 1.5 meters (4 foot 2 inches and 5 foot 1 inch)
• Tandem bikes can be rented if the supplier is advised in advance
• If you begin your tour at 12:45, you will be finished by approximately 6PM
Meet your guide outside currently empty shop., 15 Broad street. This is next to the Oxfam shop, 17 Broad street, OX1 3AS. You may also see our red sign on the street indicating the tours.
