Mamas of Zanzibar - A Unique Cultural & Culinary Experience

Mamas of Zanzibar is a unique cultural & culinary experience that connects travellers of Zanzibar to the local people of Zanzibar.
This experience unlocks a side of Zanzibar that travellers generally miss to experience by themselves.

This is initiative was started by a single mother. It is a group of Zanzibari women, passionate of showing to the world the beauty of the Zanzibari culture and community lifestyle. We welcome you to our homes.
This half day experience is an authentic and fun cultural and culinary activity. It will show you the real community lifestyle of the Spice Island; the colourful, joyful, and tasteful side of Zanzibar that travellers don't normally get in contact with.

By booking with us, you will be supporting the women of Zanzibar directly. Your booking will be providing the basic everyday needs of the Mamas and their extended families. Each Mamas has a story and with this initiative you will be empowering them to reach their personal goals and dreams.
We have different packages designed for you. The Original Mamas of Zanzibar Experience starts from 09:00hrs - 13:00hrs.

You get a hands-on training on how to cook Zanzibari traditional food.
