DAY 1: Arrival and Trek from Machame Gate to Machame Camp

After registration and meeting your trekking team, the journey starts through the lush rainforest. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Machame Camp (3,000 meters), where you'll rest, have dinner, and prepare for the next day.

DAY 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
After breakfast, you’ll leave the forest behind and continue trekking uphill. The landscape changes as you ascend into the moorland zone, with beautiful views of the valleys below. The trail becomes rockier and steeper, but the breathtaking scenery is a constant reward. The day’s trek takes about 4-6 hours, leading you to Shira Camp (3,840 meters) by mid-afternoon. After arriving at the camp, you'll enjoy some rest, a warm meal, and an unforgettable sunset over the Shira Plateau.

DAY 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
This is one of the more challenging days but also one of the most rewarding in terms of acclimatization. After breakfast, you’ll trek to Lava Tower (4,630 meters), a significant altitude gain that helps your body adjust to the thinner air. The journey takes 5-7 hours, offering panoramic views of Kibo Peak and the vast landscapes surrounding you. After reaching Lava Tower, you’ll descend slightly to Barranco Camp (3,960 meters) for the night. The descent helps with acclimatization, and you'll get to rest at the stunning camp nestled beneath the Barranco Wall.

DAY 4: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp via Karanga Valley
After breakfast, you'll tackle the Barranco Wall, a steep climb that offers amazing views once conquered. The trail then continues through the alpine desert, with a stop for lunch at Karanga Valley. The trek from Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp (4,600 meters) is about 7-9 hours, and you'll pass through increasingly barren landscapes. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Barafu, the base camp for your final ascent. After an early dinner, you’ll rest, preparing for the midnight summit push.

DAY 5: Barafu Camp to Summit, Then Descend to Mweka Camp
Your summit attempt begins at midnight, and after a hot drink and snack, you’ll start your slow ascent towards the Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters). The climb is challenging due to the cold and altitude, but reaching the top at sunrise is an unforgettable experience. After taking in the spectacular views from Africa’s highest point, you'll begin your descent back to Barafu Camp for a short rest. You’ll then continue down to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters), where you’ll celebrate your achievement and enjoy a well-deserved rest after a long and fulfilling day.
