विवरण

The Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and least crowded routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. It is possible 6 days if you are short on time or if you have prior high-altitude trekking experience.
Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp
Elevation: 2,100 m (6,890 ft) to 2,780 m (9,120 ft)
Distance: 6 km (4 miles)
Hiking Time: 3-4 hours
Habitat: Rainforest
You will start your journey by driving from Moshi to Londorossi Gate for registration. After that, you will drive to the Lemosho trailhead where your trek begins. You'll hike through the dense rainforest and reach Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 2 Camp
Elevation: 2,780 m (9,120 ft) to 3,850 m (12,630 ft)
Distance: 16 km (10 miles)
Hiking Time: 7-8 hours
Habitat: Moorland
The trail continues through the forest, leading to a savannah of tall grasses, heather, and volcanic rock draped with lichen beards. You will cross several streams and then reach the Shira Ridge before dropping down to Shira 2 Camp.

Day 3: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
Elevation: 3,850 m (12,630 ft) to 3,950 m (12,960 ft)
Distance: 10 km (6 miles)
Hiking Time: 6-8 hours
Habitat: Semi-desert
Today you will climb steadily to reach the high altitude point of Lava Tower at 4,600 m (15,190 ft). This part of the route allows for good acclimatization. After lunch at Lava Tower, you will descend to Barranco Camp.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Elevation: 3,950 m (12,960 ft) to 4,035 m (13,230 ft)
Distance: 5 km (3 miles)
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert
The day begins with a descent into the Great Barranco Valley, followed by a climb up the steep Barranco Wall. From the top of the Wall, you hike across the ridges and valleys to Karanga Camp.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Elevation: 4,035 m (13,230 ft) to 4,640 m (15,220 ft)
Distance: 4 km (2.5 miles)
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert
You will leave Karanga and hit the junction which connects with the Mweka Trail. Continue up to the Barafu Hut. You have now completed the Southern Circuit, which offers views of the summit from many different angles. Prepare for the summit push.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak, then descend to Mweka Camp
Elevation: 4,640 m (15,220 ft) to 5,895 m (19,341 ft) and down to 3,080 m (10,105 ft)
Distance: 17 km (10 miles)
Hiking Time: 12-15 hours
Habitat: Arctic to Rainforest
Around midnight, you begin your push to the summit. This is the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek. The wind and cold at this elevation and time of day can be extreme. Ascend through heavy scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim. This is the most challenging section of the trek. At Stella Point, you will take a short rest and will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise you are ever likely to see. From Stella Point, you may encounter snow all the way on your 1-hour ascent to the summit, Uhuru Peak. After your summit, you will descend straight down to the Mweka Hut, stopping at Barafu for lunch. The trail is very rocky and can be quite hard on the knees; trekking poles are helpful.
