This is a wonderful opportunity to explore Robben Island.
Your journey starts at the Nelson Mandela gateway to Robben Island. The gateway is at the V & A Waterfront in the Silo District. Here, you will be given your ticket and then board the ferry for a 30-minute ride to Robben Island. Upon arrival you will be taken on a guided tour by an ex-political prisoner who will tell you about the island's rich history. You will also get to see Nelson Mandela's actual prison cell where he spent a large part of his 27 year incarceration.
After the tour, you will board the ferry for a brief ride back to the Nelson Mandela Gateway.
