Day 1: Arrival in Colombo
Arrive in Colombo, the capital city, and explore landmarks like the Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, and Galle Face Green. Explore the vibrant Pettah Market for a taste of local life.

Day 2: Colombo to Sigiriya
Drive to Sigiriya and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Climb the ancient rock fortress and see the remains of royal gardens, frescoes, and stunning views. In the evening, explore the Dambulla Cave Temple, another UNESCO site, known for its impressive collection of Buddha statues and murals.

Day 3: Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa
Visit the UNESCO-listed ancient city of Polonnaruwa, known for its well-preserved ruins, including the Gal Vihara rock temple with its magnificent Buddha statues. Visit the Parakrama Samudra, an ancient reservoir. Return to Sigiriya or stay overnight in Polonnaruwa.

Day 4: Sigiriya to Kandy

Day 5: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Before leaving Kandy, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, known for its vast collection of flora. Take the scenic train ride from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, which offers breathtaking views of tea plantations and misty mountains. Explore Nuwara Eliya, known as "Little England," with its colonial feel, gardens, tea estates, and the Victoria Park.

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya to Ella
Visit one of the famous tea estates like Labookellie Tea Factory or Pedro Tea Estate for a guided tour and tasting. Drive to Ella and hike up to Ella Rock for stunning views or visit Ravana Falls, a beautiful waterfall with a local legend.

Day 7: Ella to Yala National Park
If you have time, visit the Nine Arches Bridge. Drive to Yala National Park and embark on a Yala Safari in the late afternoon, where you can spot elephants, leopards, crocodiles, and various birds. Stay overnight near Yala at a safari lodge or eco-resort.

Day 8: Yala to Mirissa
Enjoy another chance to explore Yala National Park on a morning safari. Drive to Mirissa and enjoy the beautiful, palm-lined beaches. It's an excellent spot for swimming, surfing, or simply unwinding. If you’re visiting between November and April, consider going on a whale-watching tour.

Day 9: Mirissa to Galle
Drive to Galle and explore the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with colonial-era buildings, narrow streets, and spectacular sea views. Visit the Galle Lighthouse and the National Maritime Museum to learn about the region's rich maritime history.

Day 10: Galle to Colombo (Departure)
Drive back to Colombo and visit Mount Lavinia Beach or do some last-minute shopping at Odel or Barefoot stores. Head to the airport for your return flight.
