From Alicante: Tour to the National Botanical Garden

Excursion to the amazing botanical garden. Experience exploring a variety of plants, flowers and trees. Discover of fish, amphibians and birds living in the park.
You will visit a unique state nature reserve, which is an open-air park.
You will have one hour to explore the park on your own (entrance fees are included in the tour price).
This quiet and peaceful place is not accompanied by a guide.
However, you can use the audio guide for free by downloading it to your phone (in English, Spanish, Valencian, French and German).
There are also many information stands throughout the garden.

The park was founded in 1919 and has had the status of a National Garden since 1943.
The park stuns with its variety of vegetation: flowers, shrubs and trees of incredible shapes and sizes.
During a visit to the Garden, along with the almost 1,000 existing specimens of the Elche date palm (Phoenix dactylifera), you will find other trees typical of the traditional orchards of Elche, such as olive trees, citrus trees and other less common species that we invite you to discover.

Albeit the Garden is, above all, a botanical resort, we cannot forget the animals that live around it. Undoubtedly, the most attractive and representative ones are the peacocks.
Other notable inhabitants of the Garden are the ducks as we have several pairs.

Other animals that have adapted perfectly to our Garden, are the fish in the ponds. The garden has two species: the common carp and the koi carp. White, orange and yellow colours fill the bottom of the ponds, providing for joy and movement.

Also worth mentioning are the frogs, which especially on summer days provide a wonderful soundtrack to the visit of tourists.

If visitors want to feed the animals, they can buy food at the shop at the entrance to the Garden. It is so common that they are given food that the fish swirl anxiously in the ponds, when they sense that they are going to be fed. The same happens with the peacocks that sometimes come to eat from the hands of visitors.

After the tour, you can buy a potted plant.
