2-Day Kivu Lake Relaxing Tour with Boat Cruise

Embark on a 2-day journey to the African Rift Valley and go kayaking and on a boat cruise on Lake Kivu. Paddle peacefully along the spectacular coast of one of Africa’s Great Lakes and witness the verdant landscape, vibrant local communities, birds, and wildlife that thrive in the water, on the shores, and islands of Lake Kivu as well as Nyamyumba hot spring.

Day 1: Visit of Ndaba waterfall and boat cruise in Kivu Lake
At 8 AM, be picked up from your hotel and embark on your journey to Karongi (Western part of Rwanda). On the way there will be a stopover at Ndaba rock and waterfall located in Karongi District.

Ndaba Rocks and waterfalls is part of the captivating cultural and remarkable historic attraction sites in Rwanda and one of the most visited tourist sites for its mythical/legendary stories that surround it.

After check in at Bethany Hotel / Inn on the Lake / Cleo Hotel and lunch, start doing a boat cruise in Kivu lake where you will visit 3 islands know as Napoleon Island (for a short hiking and bats), Monkey island (for the Columbus monkeys), and Amahoro (Peace Island). This boat cruise will be an opportunity to see swimming cows.

The distance between Kigali and Karongi is 126.8 Km for around 3h 20min drive.

Day 2: Transfer to Gisenyi/Rubavu, boat cruise and you will drive back to Kigali
After breakfast, leave Karongi at 10 AM heading to Rubavu (former Gisenyi town) for lunch with enjoying the fresh fish from Kivu Lake.

After lunch, have a boat cruise in Kivu Lake On the Side of Rubavu with a visit of the Nyamyumba Hot Spring. From the boat you will have a great view of surrounding rift valley and volcanoes in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and cross the canoes. After you will transfer back to Kigali.
