Embark on an early morning adventure to the Tambopata National Reserve and the Chuncho Clay Lick. See wildlife in its natural habitat and watch as hundreds of parrots of different species come to eat clay from the wall adjacent to the river.
Be picked up at your accommodation at 3:00 AM and travel by 4x4 to the banks of the Tambopata River. Take a boat ride into the rainforest, where you may see animals in their natural habitat, such as amphibians, mammals, reptiles, and insects.
Arrive at 4:30 AM and head to the world's largest clay lick, the Chuncho Clay Lick, on a 1.5-hour boat ride. On the way, have the incredible opportunity to see some species such as capybaras, tapirs, and even the most beautiful South American feline, the jaguar.
Once you arrive at the clay lick, watch hundreds of parrots of different species come to eat clay from the wall adjacent to the river. Return to Puerto Maldonado at 12:00 PM.
