Monkey Excursion in Tambopata 2D/1N

Explore Tambopata's jungle: Meet monkeys, hike ancient forests, and enjoy a nocturnal safari. Encounter diverse wildlife at Lake Sandoval, from monkeys to giant river otters.
DAY 1
CONNECT WITH THE NATURAL JUNGLE AND RELAX

Meet at our office and head to our lodge for the adventure, a 35-minute boat ride near the Madre de Dios River. Lodge introduction with private bathroom accommodations.

ACTIVITIES:

- Visit to Monkey House. Experience feeding four species of freely roaming monkeys.
- Jungle hike amidst towering trees, learning about medicinal plants and trees that can live up to 400 years.
- Night walk to spot tarantulas, frogs, owls, bamboo rats, snakes, and other nocturnal animals with the aid of a good flashlight.

DAY 2
WILDLIFE ENCOUNTER AT LAKE SANDOVAL

This activity begins with a 1-hour boat ride to Tambopata National Reserve. The 3-kilometer (1-hour) trek is clean and features a well-maintained bridge leading to Lake Sandoval, where you can encounter:

- Up to 4 species of monkeys
- Snakes
- Tarantulas
- Tropical birds
- Parrots
- Mammals

Includes lunch. After the trek, a canoe awaits to explore cabins near Lake Sandoval. We explore the right bank to observe wildlife such as tropical birds, herons, caimans, and the giant 2-meter-long river wolf, representative of Madre de Dios.

Departure to Puerto Maldonado. Your guide and staff bid farewell and thank you for visiting this part of the Amazon. You'll travel back to Puerto Maldonado via motorized canoe. Depending on your departure time, relax and wait for your bus home or to your next destination.
