Iquitos: Tour of the northern Amazon in 4 days

Wild animals, river walks, jungle walks... Enjoy one of the most special places in the world with this 4-day tour of the northern Amazon.
Day 1
We will pick you up from your accommodation in Iquitos and, without wasting time, we will go to the port of Bellavista to board a boat that will take us to the accommodation in the jungle. Along the way we will make a stop at the crossing between the Amazon River and the Nanay to discover the fauna that inhabits these waters. Here we can see the first piranhas!

After leaving our suitcases and regaining our strength with a delicious lunch, we will head to one of the towns that inhabit this leafy place. We will learn about the lifestyle that the farmers of the area lead and about the medicinal plants they use and their healing values.

After returning to the accommodation and enjoying dinner, we will offer you the possibility of taking a night walk.

Day 2
We will start the day with a visit to Neyser Island to see its famous serpentarium. In addition to these reptiles, we will also have the opportunity to see other animals such as anteaters and sloths, monkeys or turtles. And during the return trip we will try to spot the pink Amazon dolphins.

In the afternoon, we will go to a butterfly farm to see first-hand their entire metamorphosis process.

Day 3
We will get up at 4:30 a.m. to take a short night walk through the jungle and contemplate one of the most beautiful sunrises you have ever seen. Afterwards, we will return to the accommodation to regain strength with a copious breakfast and continue with the activities.

Throughout this day we will visit the yagua tribe, from whom we will learn their typical dances and discover their crafts. You will surely want to buy some nice souvenirs of the experience! Additionally, in the afternoon, we will also visit another indigenous community in the area to learn about their traditional medicine techniques.

Day 4
On the last day of the excursion, we will navigate the Amazon River to fish for one of its most feared fish: piranhas. And, as a culmination, we will also take you to an area of therapeutic mud that will leave your skin feeling like new.

Finally, after lunch, we will return to the city of Iquitos, where we will arrive at approximately 4:00 p.m.
