Iquitos: Tour of Pacaya Samiria for 3 days

The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is one of the natural jewels of the Peruvian Amazon. Let yourself be surprised by its landscapes with this 3-day tour from Iquitos.
Day 1
After picking you up at the airport or at your hotel in Iquitos, we will go to the port of Nauta. There we will board a motor boat and begin the journey along the Marañón River. During the walk we will see the famous pink dolphins that usually live in these waters. In addition, we will regain strength on board with a traditional lunch.

The journey will conclude on the shores of a camp located in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Once we set up the tents, we will get to know the rich ecosystem of the Huaylla lagoon. Next, we will have dinner in the middle of nature. After dinner we will embark on a night hiking route. It's time to look for tarantulas, scorpions and giant frogs!

The walk will conclude at the camp, where we will rest until the next day.

Day 2
We will get up early to see the sunrise and try to spot the iguanas and sloth bears in the area. Then we will return to the camp for breakfast. With our batteries well charged, we will board a boat to navigate the Pucate River and observe various species such as monkeys, macaws or toucans. We will disembark in the middle of the jungle to camp and have a comforting lunch.

In the afternoon, we will walk through the jungle towards a lake. On its shores we will learn how to use medicinal plants! After dinner under the stars, we will enjoy a night canoe tour. Finally, we will return to the camp to rest.

Day 3
We will wake up early and navigate the Yarapa River to spot the otters that inhabit its banks. The journey will conclude with a good breakfast and lunch in the camping area. In addition, we will learn some survival techniques.

Afterwards, we will set off with a walk through the jungle, and then we will leave you free time so you can take a dip in the river. Finally, we will return to Nauta and from there to Iquitos, where arrival is scheduled at 6:00 p.m.
