You will go back to the time of the ancient Andean civilizations while discovering the ruins of Pachacamac, one of the most impressive archaeological sites on the central coast of Peru.
Itinerary
After picking you up at the chosen time, we will leave downtown Lima and head towards the Lurin Valley. Here we will visit the pre-Inca ruins built in honor of the god Pachacamac, creator of the universe according to the ancient Andean people.
During our half-hour tour, we will delve into the history of Andean civilizations and discover what daily life was like for the Moche, Huai and Inca cultures. While touring the impressive Citadel of Pachacamac, we will learn all about its famous oracle, whose fame made the area even become the most important ceremonial center of the Inca empire.
We will visit the remains of the Temple of the Sun, built by the Incas with thousands of adobe bricks. From its summit, it is possible to get great views of the Pacific Ocean, the Andes Mountains and the esplanade where the ruins of this cult center lie. In addition, we will see the main archaeological remains of the citadel in Acllawasi, a sacred place where the virgins who were sacrificed every year as an offering to the Sun God lived.
The tour ends returning to your hotel in Lima after 3 hours of excursion.
