Visit the city of Chinchero, located 3,780 meters above sea level. Explore the archaeological sites of the town, a 17th century colonial church with canvases from the Cusco School, and a typical market where the famous exchange of products and purchase of Andean fabrics still takes place.
Next, visit the circular agricultural terraces of Moray, which served as an ancient agricultural research centre. Continue to the Maras Salt Mines, which contain more than 4,000 wells, one of the highest salt flats in the world where one of the most highly valued and beneficial salts in gastronomy is produced.
Head to Urubamba to enjoy lunch at a typical restaurant in the area. Taste the typical flavors of the region before continuing to the living Inca city of Ollantaytambo, which is a charming Inca city, admire its splendor and its strategic military, religious and administrative fortress in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
