BIKE TOUR THROUGH THE SACRED VALLEY 1 DAY

Moray and the Salineras are located in Maras, a district of the province of Urubamba, located towards the west of Cusco.
Day 1: Cusco – Maras – Moray – Salineras (salt mines) – Cusco.
The bike tour to Moray and Maras begins with the transfer from the meeting point at 8:00 am. and drive 45 minutes until we reach Cruz Pata (it is part of the sacred valley and Machu Picchu tour route) where we will begin the cycling route.

We will pass through small towns and we will be able to see local people doing their daily activities. After 1 hour and a half of travel we will arrive at Moray, a unique archaeological site in the region.

It consists of enormous natural depressions in the surface of the ground that the Inkas used to build gigantic agricultural terraces that they used as a center for agricultural experimentation.

After visiting Moray we continued (DownHill) towards the northwest of the town Maras and arrived at the famous "Salt Mines".

The "salt mines" are made up of about 4,000 small pools with an average surface area of 5 m², built on a slope of the "Qaqawiñay" mountain. People fill or "water" the pools with salt water emanating from a natural spring located at the top of the complex,

Then we will continue to Urubamba where we will take a shuttle service to return to Cusco (6 p.m.).

The bicycle tour to Maras is one of the best options to acclimatize the body. It is highly recommended to do physical activities before traveling to Machu Picchu by train or longer adventures such as the Inca Trail, Salkantay route or Lares hike to Machu Picchu. .
