Half-day tour in Arequipa: Sillar route

The tour to the Sillar Route is a fascinating experience to explore the Sillar quarries in Arequipa, where you will learn about the history and extraction process of these volcanic stones.
You will be picked up from the hotel in Arequipa according to the schedule you choose and then transferred to the Sillar quarries, a place with a lot of history and living culture. On the route there will be stops at the volcano viewpoint to appreciate the impressive views of 3 volcanoes in Arequipa: El Misti, Chachani and Picchu Picchu; perfect place for the best 360 degree panoramic photos. The route will continue until reaching the Añashuayco quarry. It is currently in operation and the stonemasons carry out their work activities. In the place we see an immense Farallones Canyon, which is several meters high.
In this area you will see a Mega Carving of the Compañía church, which was built by the stonemasons themselves. Then you will be transferred to the Culebrillas ravine for a short 20-minute walk through the small canyon, which originates from the passage of water. At the end of the walk you will see petroglyphs that were made by the Wari culture more than a thousand years ago. Then you will observe the Apachetas, an important place where we will learn the importance of these stone formations placed one on top of another, we will also have the experience of building our own Apacheta.
Finally we will return to the city of Arequipa.
