COLCA CANYON - TREKKING 2D/1N

This tour is for people who like to do something different. 2-day Colca Canyon hike in the opposite direction Cabanaconde – Oasis – Malata – Cosñirhua – San Juan de Chuccho – Cabanaconde.
Day 1 Colca Valley
Pick up from the meeting point at 3:00 am then we go to the Colca Valley and then to the Colca Canyon, approximately a 3-hour trip, we will arrive at the Colca Valley, we descend to the town of Chivay 3650 m.a.s.l. where we can enjoy breakfast, then we will continue traveling in the middle of nature to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor (this is the best place to see the condors). Afterwards with transportation we continue to the town of Cabanaconde at 3300 meters above sea level. Here we will begin to descend to the Sangalle Oasis.

We begin at 10 am the 3-hour walk down from the point of view of Cejana Pata at 3300 m.a.s.l. to the bottom of the Oasis canyon at 2200 m.a.s.l., a place where there are palm trees and swimming pools with a temperature of 20 °C (The temperature at night is 12 to 35 ºC). Lunch in Sangalle.
After lunch, we will walk 1 hour uphill to the town of Malata at 2600 meters above sea level and then 2 more hours to San Juan de Chucchu. We will spend the night in the town of San Juan de Chuccho in basic accommodation.

Day 2 Cabanaconde
Very early at 4:30 am we leave San Juan de Chuccho to Cabanaconde, this is the most difficult part of the walk 10 km in 4 hours we will arrive at Cabanaconde and then we go in our transport to have breakfast at the restaurant overlooking the canyon “la farm “from there we will go to Chivay. We make several stops along the way to discover the Colca Valley and appreciate the pre-Inca terraces, some archaeological and colonial sites, towns and other points of view.
We will continue to Yanque with an optional visit to the hot springs, with water temperatures of 38 °C. In Chivay we will enjoy a buffet lunch.
Return to the city of Arequipa, on the way we will stop to observe the “Volcanoes” Ampato, Sabancaya, Hualca Hualca, Mismi (source where the Amazon River is born) and the Chila mountain range; Later we will see wild vicuñas, alpacas and llamas in the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, some birds such as flamingos depending on the season. (5:00 p.m. Approximately. Return to Arequipa.).
