Tour to Pachacamac

Admire the temple of Pachacamac that were visited by crowds of pilgrims - great Andean rituals were once celebrated in this place. Pachacamac was seen as an accurate oracle, capable of predicting the future and controlling the movements of the earth.
The word Pachacamac means "soul of the earth, the one who animates the world". The ancient Peruvians believed that a single movement of its head would cause earthquakes. They could not be looked at directly in the eyes, and even priests entered the room with their backs turned. The cult of Pachacamac was the center of all coastal religions.

You will begin the tour with a pickup at your hotel, starting the tour in the District of Barranco - known as one of the most Bohemian neighborhoods in Lima. You can observe the chapel, its church, and the Bajada de Baños. You will also be able to appreciate houses from the Eighteenth Century.

On the way, you will go through Chorrillos, a district with a lot of history where you can appreciate the protected Villa swamps. Then, you will begin the visit to the Pachacamac Sanctuary. You will visit the museum at the site and see the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Moon or Acllahuasi (mamaconas), the Old Temple, and Tauri Chumpi palace. Afterwards, you will return to your hotel.
