विवरण
Kapuche Glacier Lake: Remote glacial lake, possibly in the Himalayas, with unique features and environmental significance.
Kapuche lake trek is the short 4 days Trek to Kapuche lake in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is the trek to the lowest altitude glacier lake situated at an altitude of 2546 meters. This ideal height makes Kapuche one of the promising destinations in Nepal, as all other glaciers in Nepal are situated above the altitude of 4000 meters above sea level.
The trek to Kapuche starts from Pokhara and continues to Sikles and Hugu villages, and finally to Kapuche lake and returns back to Pokhara. If you are in Kathmandu and want to do this trek, you will be transferred first to Pokhara via air flight or road transport (depending on the client's choice), and then stroll forward to the destination.
During Kapuche lake trekking, you will discover the newly flourished trekking trail covered with unique and authentic remote locations, meadows, and stunning white mountains like Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, and so on. Though the turquoise glacier lake - Kapuche is the major attraction of the trekking journey to Khapuche.
Itinerary
Day 1:
Drive from Pokhara to Sikles and explore around.
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will head towards Sikles from Pokhara. Sikles is around 36.7 kilometers away via off-the-beater trail and it will take about 3 hours to reach there. Enroute, you will pass through the small yet beautiful villages with lesser population and settlement, such as Taprang, Chipli gaun, and Khilang gaun. Also, you will be joining the pristine view of snow-capped mountains, green forests and hills.
Upon reaching Sikles, you will be standing at an altitude of 1980 meters with the observation of beautiful remote (village) architectures, cultural presence, and tradition and lifestyle of local Gurung people. In Sikles, you can visit Eco-museum, view tower (for the sight of the whole village), hike up towards Rising Danda (Hill) and Sikles Park for the stunning view of mountains like Annapurna II, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal and many more. It will take around 30 to 35 minutes for an average walker to reach these places. After exploration, you will return back to Sikles and stay overnight.
Day 2:
Trek from Sikles to Hugu (Huwu)
This is the second day of your Khapuche trek and the very first day of trekking. Today, you will walk for around 5 to 6 hours. In the morning, after breakfast, you will climb uphill via stone-paved paths and stone-stairs on the edge of a narrow trail of the high hills. On the way, you can see Edi Jharna (waterfall) around 64 meters tall, of which the view is top-notch. You can stay for a while and enjoy the picturesque moments there. Afterwards, you will climb a few big and steep stone paths following the rivers and bridges. After ascending for some hours, you will reach Hugu (Huwu). Overall, the trekking route is filled with green forest and walks along the river banks. At Hugu, you will not find any hotels or lodges, yet you will have to stay overnight at small tea houses utilizing the mats.
Day 3:
Trek from Hugu to Kapuche Lake and back to Sikles
Today, early in the morning, after breakfast, you will trek towards Khapuche lake. It takes around 2 to 3 hours to reach the lake site from Hugu village. The way is short and easy compared to treks of other days. Likewise, you will get the view of high mountain ranges and the serene wilderness of the route. On arrival at the lake, you will see the turquoise glittering lake surrounded by high snow-capped mountains. There are chances of minor or major avalanches at the region, so, if you get lucky you will have the sight of avalanches from Annapurna II. After spending some time in Kapuche lake, you will return back to Huwu village and then to Sikles village, following the same trial. As you will be majorly descending, it will take less time to complete the distance. Stay overnight at Sikles village.
Day 4:
Drive back to Pokhara
Today, you will have a short excursion in the village and take breakfast. Then, you will be moving towards Pokhara. While leaving the hotel/lodge in Sikles, the owner will put tika on your forehead and bid you farewell in their own cultural style. It will take around 3 hours by drive to reach Pokhara from Sikles.
