Join olive oil grower and producer Dr. Neil Jarrett of Dalmatia Oil and Napa Valley wine journalist and educator Dr. Elizabeth Smith as they personally guide you through a 'healthy eating' experience including specially curated tasting of handcrafted Dark Chocolate, Dalmatian Coast olive oils and a selection of Croatia’s finest native-variety wines from the country’s premier winegrowing regions and producers, accompanied by small bites lovingly prepared by diWine.

The sensory experience is designed to be both an educational and fun - introducing the rich history and craft behind production of the highest quality and healthiest olive oils, wines and chocolate.

The session begins with olive oil tasting and you'll learn how to identify the sensory and health qualities of high polyphenol oils, wines, and chocolates

You are shown how to gently warm the oil in tasting cups, release its aromas, and assess the different qualities of extra virgin olive oil—its fruitiness, bitterness, and pungency. The oil tasting concludes with our healthiest oil with over 1200mg/kg polyphenols from our 2024 early harvest. The oils are accompanied by locally baked sour bread.

The olive oil tasting is followed by a wine tasting experience. We start the session with an introduction to Croatia's four main wine regions. We introduce four premium native-grape varietal wines and what to look for on the label. The we show you how to maximize your wine enjoyment in five easy steps: sight, smell, swirl, sip, and savour.

The tasting experience concludes with a supreme dark chocolate, packed with high cacao and flavonoids that improve heart health and blood flow.

Between tastings, we entertain with a local food and culture quiz with an award-winning bottle presented to the winning team. The quiz is a learning experience accompanied by witty stories of the turbulent history of the region, always connecting with olive oil and wine production. From ancient civilizations that revered the olive tree and vine for prosperity, to periods of war and conquest that disrupted their cultivation. The story of olive oil and vineyards are deeply intertwined with the region’s history.

You will leave the session not only with a deeper knowledge of Croatian wine, olive oil, and chocolate, but also an appreciation for the their complexity and health benefits.
