David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Guided Tour and Tickets

On this tour from Nairobi, visit the Elephant Orphanage run by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Watch the adorable baby animals being cared for and learn about their rehabilitation plans.
The tour will start with pickup from your hotel/home in Nairobi at 9:30 am. We will take you to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where you can walk through the small center in an open space surrounded by rope fences from 11am to 12pm. The smallest elephant trotted out of the bushes to greet the keeper, who was ready with a huge bottle of milk. For the next 10-15 minutes, you can watch each little one suck and gargle milk. When they're done, they have water to play with and caregivers to pet and cuddle. When you can watch them play and take their pictures. You can find out how old they were when they arrived at the orphanage, where they were rescued from, and what got them into trouble. The most common causes of orphanhood are: poaching of the mother, falling into a well, and conflict between humans and wild animals. After the youngest children are fed, they are taken back into the bush and then it is the turn of the 2-3 year olds. Some of them can feed themselves and others are still fed by the caretakers. It's so cute to see them put their giant bottles in their suitcases, close their eyes with joy and quickly drink liters of milk.
