Nairobi: David Sheldrick Elephant Nursery Tour

Our tour will start with pick up from your preferred pickup location at 0930hrs. We will ensure on time arrival, to secure best viewing positions of these baby elephants as the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust opens from 11a.m.-12p.m. in an open space with a circular setting. Enjoy as the youngest elephants come trotting out of the bush as the keepers who act like there surrogate mothers/caregivers wait on the ready with giant bottles of milk. At the go, watch as the baby elephants slurp and gargle there specially formulated milk. As the joy of seeing and watching these baby elephants fills your heart get to hear their stories, how they came to be rescued, approximated ages, which locations they were rescued from and even understand why they have the special formulated milk. The David Sheldrick Foundation not only cares for baby elephants but also other wildlife that might need their help more so elephants and rhinos. Most of the common factors/reasons for them been orphaned include: - mother getting killed as poachers get their tusks, falling into wells and human/wildlife conflict. They come into budges. The first are the very youngest and then after 2-3year olds. Instinctively some of them use their trunks to hold their milk bottles for themselves and within a few they empty the bottles. Truly it's a special experience.
