Spend the whole day exploring India's capital, beginning with the Old Delhi historic district. The journey begins with a pickup from the hotel and a tour of the magnificent Red Fort, one of the architectural wonders built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, who was also in charge of building the well-known Taj Mahal. From there, ride a rickshaw through the busy Chandni Chowk shopping area to reach Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque dating back to the 17th century.
We stop for a great lunch in the neighborhood before traveling on to New Delhi. The first thing you see is the majestic Qutub Minar, which is the tallest brick minaret in the world. Next on your itinerary is the Tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun. The excursion starts with the India Gate, a poignant tribute to Indian troops killed in World War I, and ends at the magnificent Lotus Temple, fashioned after a blossoming lotus.
The trip will close with a drive by the Presidential House and Parliament Buildings, which offer an overview of the political center of the city, and you will be brought back to your accommodation.
