Take the short journey to the northern suburbs of Paris, and arrive at the incredible Basilique Saint-Denis. Built on the grave of Saint-Denis, the royal abbey was the burial place of 43 kings, 32 queens, and 10 servants to the monarchy. The basilica was raised to the rank of cathedral in 1966.
Discover the largest collection of funerary sculpture from the 12th to the 16th-centuries contained within the basilica's walls. Admire stunning examples of Gothic art and architecture as you stroll through the inside and outside of the building. • Entrance is free on the Saturdays and Sundays of the "European Heritage Days" organized on: the 3rd weekend of September; the 1st Sunday of the month (from 1 January to 31 March and from 1 November to 31 December)
• Free admission for under 18 years and 18-25 year olds and / or residents of the EU
• Last admission 30 minutes before closing time
• The Basilique will be closed completely on January 1st, May 1st, and December 25th
• 9th March: closes at 5 PM, last access at 4:30 PM
• 6th April: closed from 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM
• 16th April: closes at 4:30 PM
• 19th April: closes at 2:30 PM
• 22nd April: opens at 11 AM
You are required to bring and wear a mask
All participants who are over 12 years old must present either proof of full vaccination, proof of a Covid-19 infection in the past 6 months, or a negative test taken no more than 72 hours before the activity starts
