The transformation of Abdeen Palace into a museum, which captures both its opulence and the significant events it witnessed from the age of the kings to the revolution of July 1952, makes it a unique historical masterpiece. One of the most significant and well-known palaces constructed under the family of Muhammad Ali Pasha's tenure in Egypt, where he served as the seat of government from 1872 to 1952, is eagerly sought after by several museums.
The Monument to the Unknown Soldier in Nasr City is a pyramid-shaped memorial in Cairo that is situated in the Nasr City neighborhood. To honor the Egyptians who sacrificed their lives in the War of Attrition and the October 1973 War, it was created by the Egyptian artist Sami Rafie and was constructed on orders from the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat. President Sadat was buried in the same location after being assassinated in October 1981.
One of Cairo's most well-known cafés, Al-Fishawi Cafe is situated in the Al-Azhar neighborhood and dates back to 1797, making it one of the city's oldest coffee houses. The cafe was made renowned and glamorous by Egyptian author Naguib Mahfouz, who considered it "al-Fishawi," where many of the early versions of his
books were written. It also functioned as a gathering place for writers, artists, and regular folks to congregate. To Al-Moez Street, the center of Cairo's historic district was transformed into an open-air museum of Islamic architecture (Barqouq mosque & School in Nahassen, El Aqmar Mosque, the Mosque of El Saleh Tale, The Blue Mosque, the Dome, Hospital, and School of Qalawoon). From Bab El Fottoh in the north to Bab Zuwaila in the south, one of Cairo's biggest open Islamic museums, the street stretches. One of the largest collections of medieval architectural treasures in the Islamic world was acknowledged.
