-Next is the Central Market It is said to be the biggest market in Asia. The bright yellow building was designed by French architect Jean Desbois and was completed in 1937. With its 26 meter high central dome and branching hallways, it houses countless stalls and a variety of goods.
-Wat Phnom and Lady Penh Monument is the final stop before lunch. Learn who Phnom Penh is named after and why. Temple Entry: $1.
-Enjoy lunch (not included in cost of tour)
-Spend a half-day learning about the atrocities committed during the Khmer Rouge Regime in Cambodia. Visit the Killing Fields where over 1 million people lost their lives and go to the Genocide Museum to see the relics recovered from the time.
-Then, head back into the city center to visit the Genocide Museum. Learn more about the regime here and about the people who were kept as prisoners. See the small rooms and cells where the prisoners lived and photos from the time.
