Zhangjiajie: Fenghuang Ancient Town+ Furong Town 2-Days Tour

Fenghuang Ancient Town, also called Phoenix Ancient Town, is situated in western boundary of Hunan Province, it features outstanding natural beauty where mountains, water and blue skies prevail. Fenghuang Ancient Town is so called as legend has it that two fabulous Phoenix birds flew over it and found the Fenghuang Town so beautiful that they hovered there, reluctant to leave. Furong Zhen (Hibiscus Town) is an old town where the Tujia ethnic minority lives in a compact community. The blue stone pavement and resident houses on stilts are still well preserved.

Pick-up at 9:00am at Zhangjiajie hotel/airport, then transfer to Fenghuang Ancent by a ride of 3.5 h, visit Furong Town(the Hibiscus Town) on route. It is where the famous movie Hibiscus Town was filmed. Furong town consists of a group of mixed people, ethnic group of Tujia and Miao mixed with Han people. Tujia people account for more than 80% of the total population.

Then, go to Fenghuang Ancient Town(Phoenix Ancient Town) and overnight there. Different from other ancient towns in China, Fenghuang Ancient Town is a secluded and tranquil town located on the bank of the river and surrounded by mountains. Strolling in this ancient town and visiting some interesting shops and nooks. The ethnic handicrafts are really delicate and special in this region. At night, the town becomes more quiet and peaceful. Sitting in a bar and appreciating the sunset is wonderful.

Today will be the relaxing day, you can check out the hotel around 12:00(noon).
Then you will visit the Fenghuang South Great Wall. The wall was built in 1554 in Ming Dynasty and completed in 1622. The rulers of the Ming Dynasty built it for the purpose of military usage to defend the kingdom against the Mio people of the south. The Southern Wall starts north from Xiqueying (Xique military camp) of Guzhang County in western Hunan province and south to Huanghuiying (Huanghui military camp) of Tongren City in Guizhou Province. It is in a length of 190 miles with a reputation of "Thousands of Wall in Miao Area". It is one of the greatest ancient architectures in China.

Finally, you will take the private car to Zhangjiajie city center, drop off at Zhangjiajie hotel/airport/train station.
