The cruise ship docks at Chan May Port. A private car and an English-speaking tour guide will greet you and begin the journey from Chan May Port to Hue City, about 64 km away, taking around 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Arrive in Hue, the first stop is the historic Imperial Hue, the seat of 13 Nguyen Dynasty Kings. Construction started in 1804 and concluded in 1833. As the site of the last feudal period in Vietnamese history, it houses many preserved relics. You will explore significant structures such as Ngo Mon (Moon Gate), Thai Hoa Palace, Dien Tho Palace, The To Temple, and Kien Trung Palace. Learn about the Nguyen Kings who ruled from 1802 to 1945, starting with King Gia Long and ending with King Bao Dai.
Next, visit Thien Mu Pagoda, also known as Linh Mu Pagoda, which is over 400 years old, situated on Ha Khe Hill by the Perfume River, about 5 km west of Hue City center. The Phuoc Duyen Tower, a 7-floor structure within the pagoda, is a symbol of ancient Hue and is often depicted in local culture.
Lunch: Enjoy lunch with local Hue dishes at the restaurant.
The next destination is Khai Dinh Tomb, the resting place of the 12th Nguyen Dynasty king, Khai Dinh, known for his liberal views. Construction began in 1920 and took 11 years. The tomb, a rectangular block rising 127 steps with Thien Dinh Palace at the top, is known for its luxurious and unique ceramic mosaic architecture, despite being the smallest and most costly of the Nguyen Dynasty tombs.
3:00 PM: After exploring Khai Dinh Tomb, the car will take you back to Chan May Port, where you will arrive between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM.
