Be picked up from your hotel in Hue and travel to the DMZ. Stop at the Hien Luong Bridge, a historic symbol of the Vietnamese’s desire for eternal peace and reunification. The bridge used to be a border that split North and South Vietnam after the Gevena Agreement in 1954, due to the Dien Bien Phu battle’s failure.
Continue to see the Ben Hai River, which played a very vital part in dividing the country into Northern and Southern Zone as per the Geneva Accords of 1954. The river is situated in Central Vietnam and lies along the 17th parallel. The specified demilitarized zone comprised of five kilometers from each side of the river.
Explore the Vinh Moc Tunnels, one of the important relics in the Hue DMZ. In many revolutionary bases on the “land of fire” in Quang Tri province, the system of Vinh Moc tunnels was a symbol of the strong will, refusing to step back of the Vietnamese people.
In 1965, Vinh Moc village was completely destroyed under the devastation of the US air force and artillery. So the tunnels are the real underground village for all the villagers. After your visit, be transferred back to Hue.
