Around 6pm - Pickup time! Your tour guide and cycle rickshaw driver swing by the city center meeting spot to grab you for the evening's eats.
The first bite is at this cake shop folks recommend for the regional desserts. Their banana leaf-shaped cakes with shrimp paste and crispy onions are supposed to be killer. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but hey when in Hue! The texture combo promises to be something else.
Later we're popping into this spot that does shrimp and pork stuffed rice dumplings. Wrapped up all neat in a flat pancake shape.
Beef noodles are on the menu too - one of those hole-in-the-wall joints with steamy ceramic bowls filled with tasty magic. Really looking forward to warming up with those.
And we have gotta leave room for the grand finale...old school Vietnamese sweet soup! Over 100 kinds in every color. Our last stop is this hidden gem dessert shop that's been churning out traditional recipes for ages. Cross my fingers I've got space left after the epic meal.
9 pm-ish - The tour wraps up when we drop you back off where we first met up. Stuffing food for hours makes fast friends! Until the next food adventure.
