Day 1:

Depart from Hanoi and travel 3-4 hours to Lang Son via car. Visit the famous Tam Thanh Cave and Pagoda, a must-see attraction rich in cultural and spiritual history. Nestled in the mountains, this cave complex is filled with intricate carvings, shrines, and breathtaking natural beauty.

Explore Nhi Thanh Cave, another natural wonder, known for its enchanting limestone formations and peaceful atmosphere. This cave is also steeped in history, with inscriptions and artifacts dating back centuries.

Enjoy local specialties for lunch, such as Lang Son-style roast duck and sour noodle soup. After lunch, visit the Mac Dynasty Citadel, an ancient fortress perched on a hill with panoramic views of Lang Son. The citadel played a crucial role in defending the region and is a significant historical landmark.

Head to Dong Kinh Market, Lang Son’s largest marketplace, where you can find everything from affordable clothing and accessories to souvenirs and local products. It’s a great spot to experience the hustle and bustle of local trade.

After a day of exploring, stroll through the city’s night market and enjoy local street food. Sample deep-fried sticky rice cakes and hot pot with sturgeon fish, perfect for a cozy evening. Stay overnight at the Hotel in Lang Son.

Day 2:

Start your second day with an early drive to Mau Son Mountain, about 30 km from Lang Son city. This mountain range offers cool, refreshing air and panoramic views, making it a perfect spot for sunrise. During winter, Mau Son is one of the few places in Vietnam that can see snow, creating a magical winter landscape.

On the slopes of Mau Son, explore traditional villages of the Dao and Tay ethnic minorities. Engage with the locals, learn about their traditional ways of life, and see their unique stilt houses and colorful clothing.

Enjoy a hearty lunch at a local restaurant in Mau Son. Taste the regional specialty, roasted hill pig, and sample Mau Son wine, a local rice wine known for its unique flavor and warming effect.

On your return to Lang Son city, visit Ky Cung Temple and Ta Phu Temple, two of the most sacred sites in the region. Both temples are dedicated to local deities and historical figures, attracting many pilgrims and visitors seeking blessings for health and prosperity.
