Find your own line down the gorgeous Upper Colorado River on an inflatable kayak. Get a more personal experience on the river. Follow your guides but navigate solo past towering canyons and wildlife.
The Upper Colorado River is a great river to learn to use river toys. Several stretches of slow moving water are perfect to play around on an inflatable kayak. We offer inflatable kayaks alongside guided river trips.
On this section of the river you'll float under towering canyons and past green ranchland. There's a hot spring at most flows, and plenty of wildlife to see - duck families, big horn sheep, hawks, and bald eagles among others.
An inflatable kayak or “ducky” is a sit-on top style kayak made of rubber which has multiple chambers filled with air. This offers a more personal experience with the river as you follow your guides but navigate your boat down the this beautiful river on our own. We also have two-person duckys for those who would like to paddle with a partner.
This section of the Upper Colorado River consists of Class I-II rapids and some Class III rapids at higher water flow. Great fun for the entire family, there is sure to be something for everyone.
First timer? No problem! Our guides will help you get comfortable on your river craft.
Make a day of it! Your drive to our boathouse will be rich with Colorado mountain and ranch views. Rivers flow beside you for much of the trip, and cows munch in the sunshine. At Rancho del Rio there are snacks and ice cream for sale to enjoy after your trip.
Itinerary
*Meet at our Rancho Del Rio boathouse at 4199 Trough Rd, Bond, CO 80423 (Drive into the area and look for the big white arch and blue storage containers)
*Trips leave twice daily at 9AM or 1PM
*Gear up & meet your guide(s)
*Shuttle ride to put-in location
*River time with fun, rapids, and swimming holes
*Arrive at your take-out location
*Shuttle back to the Rancho Boathouse if needed

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Wear shoes or water sandals that stay on your feet. Flip flops or Crocs or other shoes that fall off your feet are not allowed. We have booties for rent. Old tennis shoes are great, too. Bring sunscreen!
Once you get to Rancho del Rio, come to Colorado Rafting Company to check in. We have a big white arch between two blue shipping containers.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
