Description
Hike up into The Lost/Hidden Valley in Glencoe with roundtrip transportation from Glasgow. Stand in the dramatic mountains and hear about its haunting history from your mountain guide.
From Glasgow, we will head into Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, driving up the west side of Loch Lomond. Passing the small village of Tyndrum we will make a short stop at the famous The Green Welly shop. Passing through Rannoch Moor before reaching the most photographed mountain in Scotland Buachaille Etive Mor, this where Glencoe starts to open up. At the visitor centre, we will have enough time to watch 2 short films and have a look at the exhibition to the outdoors, before going outside to look at the reconstructed 300 year old turf house.
Then from the top car park in Glencoe, which is sculpted by glaciers from the last Ice Age (the glen not the car park) we shall explore the Hidden Valley. This is a 2-3-hour hike on a mountain path which leads into a valley high above Glencoe. It's described as a natural amphitheatre surrounded by mountain ridges; a great spot to have lunch and a drink before carefully making our way back.
