Embark on a fun family day trip to Marshall Gold State Historic Park to learn about the Gold Rush, with transportation to and from San Francisco. Visit the Jelly Belly Factory for a sweet treat.
You will be leaving from San Francisco at 8am in direction to one of the most historical places in the USA, Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. This is where the Gold Rush in California first started. It would be about 2.5 hours of driving to the state park. At the park you will visit a museum, many original and restored buildings, and see some costumed volunteers. If there is availability you can learn to pan for gold. They also offer a private tour inside the park with a ranger who will tell more about the history of the place. You will spend about 2.5 hours in the park ( including time for a quick lunch).
After Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park you will going to Jelly Belly Candy Company, that will be a 1.5 hours drive to get in one of the most recognized American brands. You would spend about 2 hours visiting the candy factory (if you want to go to the factory tour) and store. Be aware of all the sugar!
You will be back in San Francisco by 5pm
