A 2-hour tour of the Castro will introduce you to the rich and diverse history of this neighborhood as well as the city of San Francisco. As you explore the area you'll learn interesting facts about the role it has played in the gay rights movement.
This guided and intimate 2 hour tour lets you explore the diversity of the Castro community with a local resident and LGBTQ activist.
You’ll relive the life and times of Harvey Milk, the slain Civil Rights leader and member of the San Francisco City Council. We’ll visit the part of the Castro where he lived and worked and served his community. In addition, visit the Harvey Milk Plaza, Milk's former camera shop, and the Civil Rights Academy.
Stroll along the "Rainbow Honor Walk," a project honoring famous LGBTQs from history, and visit the Pink Triangle Memorial Park which honors homosexuals persecuted during WWII. You’ll also see the plaque dedicated to Vietnam veteran Leonard Matlovich.
We’ll pass by the famous Castro Theater, the Hope for World Cure (AIDS) Mural and the LGBTQ Historical society.

The tour starts at 400 Castro Street next to the Big Rainbow Flagpole Landmark. Please look up and behind you for the 20 meter high flagpole. When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 48 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 48 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
