Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Fairbanks. Drive south to the Alaska Range with views of Denali. Arrive at Denali National Park and head to the visitor's center. Get your National Park Passport book stamped, take your photo in front of the sign, and meet the park rangers.
Stop for lunch in Healy, then embark on an off-road fat truck tour. Climb aboard a heated and enclosed search and rescue SHERP vehicle and travel up an old mining trail to the upper lookout. Take in the vista views and learn about the geology and history of the area.
Proceed to Dry Creek and the Frozen Palisades where rock cliffs seem to defy gravity. End your tour at Otto Lake where in the shoulder seasons you will experience the amphibious capabilities of the fat truck floating in the lake. In the winter, you will experience traveling over the ice-covered lake.
Drive north to Nenana and visit Coghills Store, an over 100-year-old trading post. Return to Fairbanks and be dropped off at your hotel, the airport, or a restaurant of your choice.
