Boone Hall Plantation was purchased in 1955 by the McRae family and opened to the public in 1956. Along the tour, enjoy the history of Charleston and its legends!
On this half-day tour, you have the option of:
House Tour: This 30-minute tour begins on the front porch and is given by a well-informed guide in historical dress. The tour also introduces you to the history of Boone Hall Plantation and its evolution through several owners since 1681.
Slave Cabin and History Presentation: Look at the living quarters, historic relics, and lifestyle of the enslaved people who lived here at Boone Hall.
Garden Tour: One of the main features of our garden are antique roses that are over 100 years old.
“Exploring The Gullah Culture:” Boone Hall Plantation is the only plantation in the S.C. Lowcountry to offer a live, seasonal presentation of this unique culture adapted by African enslaved people.
Round-trip transportation in our climate-controlled buses and all gate fees are included in the price of the tour!

Is there parking?
Yes, free parking is available at the Charleston Visitor’s Center.
Is the bus handicap accessible?
At the present time, we have one bus out of our fleet of six that can accommodate a wheelchair. If you need any handicap assistance, notice must be given at least 24 hours in advance.
Is there a restroom on the bus?
No, but restrooms are located at the Visitors Center.
Is photography allowed at Boone Hall Plantation?
While photography is not allowed inside the house at Boone Hall Plantation, you are welcome to take photos during the other portions of the tour.
Can I carry luggage or other large items on the bus?
No. We do not have space on the bus for large items such as luggage, wheelchairs, or strollers.

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
Cancellation is not possible. If you cancel it anyway or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity and the money you paid will not be refunded.
