Depart from Inverness and travel along the Great Glen and out the Parliament Road to Kyle of Lochalsh. Alternatively, take the Brahan – Strath Carron route.
Head to the amazing Wester Ross and stop at the charming village of Plockton, which is overlooked by Craig castle. Walk around the village and see the palm trees on the beach.
Continue to the infamous Bealach na Bà, a mountain pass with hairpin bends. Take photos at the bottom and the top of the pass.
Travel along the new coast road to Shieldaig and onwards to Ullapool. Stop at various scenic viewpoints and take photos of the rugged landscapes.
Visit the old herring fishing village of Shieldiag and the village of Torridon. Stop at Gairloch, a beautiful village with sandy beaches.
If the tides are right, try to catch razor shells or crabs in the harbors. Stop at the beautiful village of Poolewe and the site of the infamous Anthrax island, Gruinard Bay.
Arrive in Ullapool and have free time to explore the village, take photos, or grab a bite to eat. Finally, visit the dramatic Corrieshalloch Gorge, a natural feature with a footbridge crossing the deepest part.
