*Itinerary not set in stone. Details may change depending on variables on days of tour at driver's discretion. Tour for 18-39 year olds ONLY*
Set off from Edinburgh at 9 am (8 am in the winter) from Castle Rock Hostel where you'll get to meet your tour guide and fellow passengers for the next 3 days. Be sure to have a coffee beforehand as you'll soon cross the World Heritage Listed Forth Bridge en route to Fife.
Before you know it the hills will become mountains and you'll be coming into Perthsire, a favourite destination of Queen Victoria, and stopping in the wee town of Pitlochry for a bite to eat. Explore the many small shops and cafes of this town before climbing back aboard the bus to finally head into the Scottish Highlands.
Try not to miss anything as you meander between the many peaks of the Caringorms and off towards Culloden, the scene of the last land battle in the UK. Hear harrowing tales of rebellion, espionage and treason as your guide tells you the story of the Last Jacobite Rebellion and its untimely end.
Travel onwards to the infamous Loch Ness to try some of Scotland's most famous drink: whisky! While you're still warm from the dram why not jump in the loch itself! But be sure to leave plenty extra whisky for after your swim!
From here we head towards the Isle of Skye for the night with a quick stop at the the majestic Eilean Donan Castle, the most photographed Castle in the Highlands.
On day 2 we explore the Magical Isle of Skye. An early morning wake up gets us to Sligachan (or Fairy Pools if the car park allows) to dip your face in the magical waters that run down from the imposing Black Cuilin. After a walk here we are off to Portree to see the colorful harbor houses and get some lunch.
After lunch we explore the Trotternish Peninsula, home of The Old Man of Storr; Quiaraing, Kilt Rock, Mealt Falls and Uig. This active day is the perfect way to see the Isle of Skye!
After another night on Skye we start to meander our way back towards Edinburgh. Our first stop is the hauntingly beautiful Glencoe, where we learn of the massacre that occurred in this now serene valley. A stop and hike through this part of Scotland is always a highlight of our trip!
From Glencoe we head out across Rannoch Moor towards the Trossachs. It's just after the Trossachs that we stop in the Jewel of Scotland: Stirling. Learn about William Wallace and his famous battle, while admiring the view from the Wallace Monument.
Hop back aboard the bus and before you know it you'll be surrounded by the architecture of Edinburgh as we arrive back at Castle Rock Hostel. Head your separate ways or spend a few days in the capital as you soak in even more of what makes Scotland so magical.
