Day 1: From Tunis Into the Heart of the Desert: El Jem / Matmata / Tamezret / Douz
Departure from Tunis to the iconic site of El Jem, where you will stop for breathtaking photos at the impressive Roman amphitheater, one of the best-preserved in the world.
Continue to Matmata, a unique village famous for its troglodyte houses, traditional underground dwellings carved into the earth by the Berber people.
After a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, continue your journey to Douz, passing through Tamezret, a charming Berber village nestled in the sun-scorched, rocky desert.
Arrival in Douz, known as the "Queen of the Desert," where you'll be entranced by the vast date palm groves and stunning oases.
Visit the Douz center and the Desert Animation Center, a gateway to the vast Sahara.
Dive into the adventure: Take a camel ride, enjoy or go on a quad tour through the heart of the desert for a truly unforgettable sunset experience (extra).
Check-in at a traditional desert camp.
Experience the fascinating sand bread preparation, as you watch how traditional bread is baked beneath the desert sands and hot embers.

Day 2: Douz / Chott El Jrid / Tozeur / Nefta – Wonders of Nature and Desert Mysteries
Breakfast at the camp, then head towards Tozeur, crossing the surreal Chott El Jrid, a vast salt lake that divides Tunisia in two. Stop for breathtaking photos of this stunning, otherworldly landscape.
Arrive in Tozeur, a charming oasis town, where you’ll ride 4*4 vehicles.
Embark on a thrilling 4x4 exploration of the mountain oases of Tamerza and Chebika.
Mid-day lunch at a local restaurant.
Cross Chott El Gharsa salt lake in 4*4 and pass through Ong Jmel, the famous filming location of the "Star Wars" saga. Take a moment to capture the unique desert scenery in a photo stop.
Return to Nefta to visit the Corbeille de Nefta (Nefta Basket), an oasis created by 152 natural springs that irrigate the entire palm grove, offering a stunning contrast to the surrounding desert.

Day 3: Tozeur / Gafsa / Kairouan / Tunis – History and Spirituality in the Heart of Tunisia
Breakfast at the hotel, and then explore the old medina of Tozeur, a maze of colorful alleys and traditional brick houses.
Continue to Gafsa, a historic city known for its archaeological treasures.
Lunch along the way.
In the afternoon, head to Kairouan, one of the holiest cities in Islam, and the former capital of the Aghlabids. Visit the impressive Great Mosque of Okba Ibn Nafaa and the mausoleum of Saint Abou Zomaa el Balaoui.
Return to Tunis, bringing your unforgettable journey through the Sahara and Tunisia’s rich history to an end.
