Description
in the footsteps of the berberes : from the tataouine ksars to the desert oasis and ending with the Matmata troglodytes
Day 1:
08:00 Departure from the hotel by the Roman road then the city of Tataouine. Stop at the spice market and continue towards Cheneni. A majestic berbere village at the top of the mountain. Visit and lunch at the Mabrouk restaurant.
Continuation by the tracks to the oasis of Ksar Ghilane. Free time for a swim in the thermal spring or a ride on a dromedary or quad on the sand dunes…
Continue to Zmela 20 km from the source to the great Erg where we could witness a magnificent sunset through the dunes.
Installation at Zmela camp in Half board.
2nd day:
Departure from Zmela at 08:30 towards the mountains of Matmata, with a first stop at the villade Tamazret village visit and continuation towards Matmata, visit of the hotel Sidi Driss one of the places of the filming of the movie Star Wars ( The house of uncle Owen ).
Lunch with locals in a troglodyte house : lamb couscous. Continue to Toujane and return to Djerba by the ferry.
