The aviary oasis is also the home of conservationists Theo and Gloria Ferguson, who entertain groups on an appointment basis. See up to 14 of the 18 species of hummingbirds found in Trinidad and Tobago. These creatures have a speed up to 98km/h. Tufted coquette, is the smallest bird just about 6.6cm long, the giant hummingbird (Patagona gigas) of western South America, is only about 20 cm (8 inches) long, with a body weight of about 20 g (0.7 ounce), less than that of most sparrows.
