This adventure, focused on sustainable tourism, lets you support local communities while indulging in the beauty of the Thai landscapes.
Day 1: Your exploration begins with a hotel pickup at 9:00 am and a short ride to a local market. Here, you'll have a chance to explore the stalls filled with fresh vegetables, fruits, and regional delicacies. We'll travel comfortably in a van or a traditional songtaew, ensuring an authentic and enjoyable journey.
Following our market adventure, we'll head towards the trek starting point. Our trek will take us through mixed forests and verdant paddy fields for about 2 hours, leading us to a tucked-away waterfall within the jungle. At this serene spot, we'll enjoy a picnic lunch and the chance to cool off in the refreshing waters.
Post-lunch, our journey continues uphill through the towering bamboo and lush evergreen forests for about 2 hours, bringing us to the welcoming Karen Hill Tribe village. Here, you'll gain insights into their rich traditions and lifestyle, followed by a local dinner prepared by the villagers themselves.
The day ends around a cosy campfire and maybe even a small party, creating a memorable night beneath the stars.
Day 2: After spending the night at the Karen Hill Tribe Village, we start the day with a hearty breakfast before resuming our trek into the depths of the forest. After approximately 2 hours, we'll reach our ethical elephant sanctuary, home to a group of rescued elephants. You'll get to feed, bathe, and learn about these magnificant creatures in a safe, respectful environment.
After lunch, we'll embark on an exciting 40-minute bamboo rafting adventure down the calm Mae Wang River, offering us a tranquil way to soak in the captivating landscapes of the region.
