Tea tourism aims to empower LAHU tribe and sustain traditional livelihoods. Join us for an enriching journey into the heart of the LAHU that you contribute to the preservation of the community.
Embark on a 2-day adventure to the Doi Pu Muen Park and immerse yourself in the culture of the Lahu Tribe & Tea Tourism. Learn about the Lahu Tribe at a small museum, participate in traditional activities, and enjoy a traditional Lahu dish.

Day 1:
Arriving the meeting point at Phumanee Lahu Home Hotel, located in Fang District, Chiang Mai Province, you will receive a warmly welcome from the hotel staff along with a welcome drink, check-in to your room. Then you will have approximately 15 minutes to rest, use the restroom, or relax before taking a tour of a small museum that shares the story of the “Lahu Tribe,” who reside on Doi Pu Muen.

After learning about the Lahu Tribe and then change transportation to a pickup truck 4x4 WD to travel to Pu Muen Village and on the way will stop at local fresh market. Upon arrival, Firstly host will invite you to their house to prepare ingredients for bamboo lunch by traditional methods. after that they will take you to their tea farm for experiencing tea making, which consists of four stages.

At noon, back to their house to enjoy the bamboo lunch and Lahu culture. After lunch, experience a “LAHU dance” performance by the villagers as a thank you for participating in the village activities.

After completing the activities at Doi Pu Meun, will directly to hot springs within the Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park to soak in mineral warm water and enjoy an onsen egg boil.

Once all activities are finished, return to Phumanee Lahu Home Hotel to freshen up, relax, or update your social media as you wish.

Later, around 7:00 PM, will cook “Som Tum” (papaya salad), a must-try dish in Thailand. The ingredients will be provided for you to learn how to do Som Tum to your preferred taste, which will be served along with the hotel’s dinner. The dinner will feature an adapted Lahu tribal menu for your enjoyment before you rest and overnight, preparing for activities the next day.

Day 2:

In the morning, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for your next destination around 9:00 AM.

When should I book?

To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.


Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
