Description
Experience a half-day walking trip to visit a historical street created from coral stone throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.
This beautiful and magical town is Zanzibar's cultural and historical centre. This is a half-day journey to a historical street built in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries out of coral stone.
In 2000, it was designated as a World Heritage Site. Stone Town is a vibrant community where Arab, African, Indian, and European cultures coexist harmoniously. Mosques, churches, and temples may be seen side by side as you stroll through the maze of streets that are too narrow for cars to travel through.
While you wonder around the city, your guide will take you on a historical and cultural journey through the old slave market, the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, Sultan’s Palace and the Darajani market place. Also, it will include a lunch in a restaurant or in a local house, as agreed before.
Forodhani Gardens is also recommended to visit, especially at night when it comes alive as one of the best street food markets in East Africa.
