This 7 days Kilimanjaro Climbing Rongai route is carefully crafted to ensure a safe and enjoyable trek while maximizing your chances of reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro.
Day 1: Rongai Gate to First Cave
Elevation: 1,950 m (6,398 ft) to 2,600 m (8,530 ft)
Distance: Approximately 8 km (5 miles)
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Rainforest
Begin your trek from Rongai Gate, passing through farmland and dense rainforest. After registration, hike to First Cave Camp, where you'll spend your first night.

Day 2: First Cave to Kikelelwa Camp
Elevation: 2,600 m (8,530 ft) to 3,600 m (11,811 ft)
Distance: Approximately 12 km (7.5 miles)
Hiking Time: 6-7 hours
Habitat: Moorland
Continue ascending through the moorland zone, passing Second Cave en route to Kikelelwa Camp. The trail offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Day 3: Kikelelwa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Elevation: 3,600 m (11,811 ft) to 4,330 m (14,206 ft)
Distance: Approximately 8 km (5 miles)

Habitat: Alpine Desert
Trek towards Mawenzi Tarn Camp, situated beneath the towering Mawenzi Peak. Enjoy breathtaking views of the mountain and surrounding alpine desert landscape.

Day 4: Mawenzi Tarn Camp to Kibo Hut
Elevation: 4,330 m (14,206 ft) to 4,700 m (15,420 ft)
Distance: Approximately 8 km (5 miles)
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert
Ascend steadily towards Kibo Hut, your final campsite before the summit push. Take the afternoon to rest and prepare for the challenging ascent ahead.

Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, then descend to Horombo Hut
Elevation: 4,700 m (15,420 ft) to 5,895 m (19,341 ft) and down to 3,720 m (12,205 ft)
Distance: Approximately 6 km (3.7 miles) ascent, 15 km (9.3 miles) descent
Hiking Time: 6-8 hours to the summit, 5-6 hours descent
Habitat: Arctic to Alpine Desert
Begin the summit attempt in the early hours of the morning. Reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, and then descend back to Kibo Hut. Continue down to Horombo Hut for overnight.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate, then transfer to Moshi
Elevation: 3,720 m (12,205 ft) to 1,860 m (6,102 ft)
Distance: Approximately 20 km (12.4 miles)
Hiking Time: 6-8 hours
Habitat: Moorland, Rainforest
Descend through moorland and lush rainforest to Marangu Gate. Sign out at the gate, collect your summit certificates, and transfer to your hotel in Moshi for a well-deserved rest and celebration.

Day 7: Departure
Depart from Moshi, concluding your Kilimanjaro adventure.
This itinerary balances a swift ascent with adequate acclimatization, maximizing your chances of reaching the summit while ensuring safety and enjoyment throughout the trek.
