Embark on a thrilling 4-day trek up Mount Meru, Tanzania’s stunning volcano. This challenging yet rewarding adventure offers breathtaking views, diverse wildlife, and a unique experience of East Africa's natural beauty, culminating in a sunrise summit that unveils a panorama of the surrounding landscape.

Day 1: Arrive In Tanzania
You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi town. Meet your guide who will brief you on your upcoming trek and do an equipment check to make sure you have all the necessary mountain gear. The missing gear can be rented on this day.

Day 2: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Huts
Depart Moshi Town for Momella Gate in Arusha National Park for the necessary formalities before beginning your trek. The hiking trail begins in open grassland with an armed ranger as the possibility of seeing wildlife – giraffe, zebras, antelope, elephant and buffalo – is high. Climb steadily through the rain forest until the reach Miriakamba Huts, situated in a grassy glade.

Day 3: Miriakamba Huts to Saddle Huts
Continue climbing through the rain forest until you enter the heath zone accompanied by giant heather and other moorland vegetation. Along the ridge of the saddle, enjoy views of Mount Meru Crater and the Ash Pit. After arriving at Saddle Huts, there is an option to hike to the top of Little Mount Meru for superb views and to further aid acclimatization.

Day 4: Saddle Huts to Summit - Summit to Miriakamba Huts
Very early in the morning (around midnight), begin your climb to the summit. The trail is steep to Rhino Point and then Cobra Point. The path continues along the ridge of ash and rock to the summit – Socialist Peak. Here you can enjoy magnificent views of Kilimanjaro and the sunrise before returning to Miriakamba Huts.

Day 5: Miriakamba Huts to Momella Gate
After breakfast begin your final descent to Momella gate. You will be using the southern route to descend. During your descent you will pass through the montane forest where you will pass the amazing Fig Tree Arch. Upon arrival at the Momella gate, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel.

Day 6: Depart Tanzania
The day is left free to wind down after the trek before your flight home. Depending on flight times you could go and explore Moshi town and grab some souvenirs before heading to the airport.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
