Description
Enjoy a day tour by visiting the original and modern hunter-gatherer people living in northern Tanzania. You will experience their culture,lifestyle, kids and hunting activities.
Guests will visit a Hadzabe community in the Lake Eyasi area where they will discover some of the traditional aspects of the life and culture of Tanzania’s last hunter-gatherer group. This is a particularly unique experience as this community continually struggles to protect their indigenous way of life. Guests are encouraged to be mindful of this issue.
After pickup from you accommodation your guide will drive you to Lake Eyasi which is approximately 4 hours from Arusha. On arrival you will be met by members of the Hadzabe community. They will teach you about their history and daily life. As a nomadic people, they typically did not practice farming and agriculture. They survived primarily by hunting and foraging for food. You will get to experience some of the traditional aspects of their life. This may include activities such as using a bow and arrow, identifying and collecting edible plants, harvesting wild honey or building traditional shelter.
The tour ends with lunch followed by drop-off on return to Arusha.
