Embark on a day trip to Kilimanjaro and trek through the Marangu Route. Hike through the dense Kilimanjaro rainforest and catch a glimpse of black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and various bird species.
Be picked up in the morning at your hotel in Arusha town and taken to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (Marangu Gate, 1860m). Once the necessary gate registration has been completed, begin your trek and soon be hiking through the dense Kilimanjaro rainforest.
Alongside the impressive vegetation, have the chance to catch a glimpse of black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and various bird species. Your knowledgeable English-speaking guide will inform you about Kilimanjaro and will explain the different species of plants and animals you will see.
Meet mountain climbers descending from the top, and perhaps some of them will tell you of their experiences and you can start to dream about a climb of your own. After a 3-4 hour hike, reach Mandara Hut (2700m), where you will have a well-earned rest and lunch.
Your guide will then take you on a short hike (20 minutes walking distance) to the Maundi Crater, where you can enjoy wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Northern Tanzania, and Kenya. Once you have thoroughly enjoyed the views, return to the Marangu Gate (2-3 hours walking distance), where your vehicle will be waiting for your transfer back to your hotel in Arusha.

On this Kilimanjaro 1 day trekking trip, we will start from the hotel or lodge and drive to Marangu gate, the Headquarters office, where you will register and then begin your hike from there. You will walk up to Mandara Hut for lunch. You will NOT reach the summit.
All short treks on Kilimanjaro are private, and you can start on any day of the year.
The short treks achieved for people who like to hike but reaching the summit is not a must-do allows one to experience the excitement of trekking on the highest peak on the African continent.
All trekking inside Tanzania National Park requires the service of a certified Kilimanjaro guide, and the Marangu route is the only route where short treks are allowed.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
