Embark on a 7-day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Follow the Machame Route, which is one of the most scenic routes to the top of the mountain. Enjoy the convenience of hotel transfers and accommodation in Arusha.

Day 1: Nairobi - Arusha
After breakfast, get picked up from your Nairobi hotel and depart for Arusha via Namanga border town for immigration formalities. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure. Spend the night at an Arusha hotel.

Day 2: Arusha - Machame
Start your journey to Kilimanjaro National Park. Once you reach the park gate, proceed directly to Machame hut campsite. The hike takes an average of 6 hours. Spend the night in tents at an altitude of 3,100 meters.

Day 3: Machame - Shira
After breakfast, hike to Shira hut. The trek takes approximately 4 hours, passing through the rainforest and past the valley and a steep rocky ridge ending westward at a river gorge. Rest, have dinner, and spend the night at Shira hut campsite, 3,658 meters above sea level.

Day 4: Shira - Barranco
From Shira, hike to Barranco hut, in an average hiking time of 6 hours. Bypass the lava tower and past the second junction which brings you to the arrow glacier, at an altitude of 4,876 meters. Descend to Barranco hut campsite for your third overnight on Kilimanjaro, 3,860 meters above sea level.

Day 5: Barranco - Barafu
After breakfast, leave Barranco and continue to the Karanga valley and the junction, which connects with the Mweka trail. Hike to Barafu hut where you set up camp. Walk for about 8 hours. Have dinner and spend the night at the hut campsite, at an altitude of 4,600 meters with the possibility of sighting both Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.

Day 6: Barafu - Mweka via Stella Point and Uhuru Peak
Rise early and head for Stella Point at an altitude of 5,745 meters on your way to the summit Uhuru Peak that is 5,896 meters above sea level. This part of the hike takes about 6 hours. From the summit, descend to the Mweka hut campsite, 3,100 meters above sea level. This part of the descent takes about 5 hours. Have dinner and spend the night.

Day 7: Mweka - Arusha
After breakfast, descend to the Mweka Park Gate in an average hiking time of 4 hours and then drive back to Arusha for overnight.

Day 8: Arusha - Nairobi
After breakfast, depart for Nairobi on the morning or afternoon shuttle arriving at 01.00 p.m or 06.30 p.m.

Altitude sickness medication and personal first aid kit are recommended.
Pack warm clothing and gear suitable for cold temperatures.
A sleeping bag rated for at least -10 degrees Celsius is recommended.
Carry enough cash for personal expenses and tips as ATM access may be limited.
A pre-climb briefing will be held in Arusha.
You will be required to carry your own daypack with personal items and water.

Cancellations

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
